As the Muslim community in the U.S. continues to grow, the need for accessible and high-quality Islamic education has never been more important. Weekend schools play a vital role in nurturing young minds by offering lessons in Tajweed, Tafsir of the Qur’an, the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and practical guidance for living an Islamic life—all within a supportive environment.
Many Islamic centers in the Chicago area provide comprehensive weekend programs, but financial and administrative challenges often limit their reach. Recognizing these obstacles, Zakat Chicago, over two decades, has proudly supported Islamic Weekend schools to strengthen their efforts and expand their impact.
Through financial assistance, we help families who cannot afford tuition fees, removing the burden of debt and preventing children from missing out on essential education. By doing so, we empower the next generation with knowledge, faith, and values that will guide them throughout life.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ
“The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, 5027)
